Royal Jelly is among the world’s top legendary super-foods and is a complex substance that cannot be recreated synthetically by man. Royal Jelly is a natural substance from the beehive that is used to increase energy, stamina, and vitality. Royal Jelly is composed of many vitamins & nutrients including B- complex, amino acids, calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, nucleic acids, & 10-HDA (a compound unique to Royal Jelly).
Royal Jelly is produced by the young nurse bees as larva food. Although it is not quite as well known as bee pollen, royal jelly equals pollen in its salutary effects. The young nurse bees make royal jelly for their hive. For 2-3 days, royal jelly is the only food given to all young larvae in their maturation process, while for the queen larvae, it is the specific food for her whole life period. During the 3 days in which the worker bee larvae are fed on royal jelly, they reach the maximum development. Their weight multiplies about 250 times. The queen is fed only on royal jelly for her entire life, and she reaches maturity 5 days earlier than the worker bees. When she is fully-grown, her weight is double that of the working bee. The span of the worker bee's life is about 35-40 days; while the queen lives 5-6 years and is extremely prolific.
The range of nutritional content in Royal Jelly is impressive. It includes Vitamins: A, C, D, E, B1, B2, B3, B6 and B12. It is also a good source of Folic acid.
it is around 12% protein and has all 8 of the essential amino acids that the body cannot manufacture, but needs to be supplied with. These amino acids are essential for growth and repair of our cells and tissues and are thought to be of great importance in helping combat 'free radicals' in the body.
